Bharatpur, April 25: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane emerged victorious in the House of Representatives (HoR) by-election from the Chitwan electoral constituency-2.
He won the election by a huge margin of 42,962 votes against his nearest competitor Jeet Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress who finished the race with 11,214. Lamichhane secured 54,176.
Similarly, Ram Prasad Neupane of CPN (UML) obtained 10,936. The voting under the election was held on April 23 and 78,664 votes with 1,198 invalid were cast from 138 polling centres based in 43 polling stations.
The number of voters in the constituency is 124,695. Of them, 63,291 are females, 61,403 are males and one belongs to the third gender.
The constituency comprises 10 wards of three local levels: Kalika municipality, Ichhakamana rural municipality and the Bharatpur Metropolis.
