KATHMANDU: Reconstruction of 47 heritages of Pashupati area damaged by Gorkha earthquake has been completed.
According to Pashupati Area Development Trust, reconstruction of 11 more heritages at the area is underway. A total of 90 heritages of Pashupati area were damaged by Gorkha earthquake.
Seven heritages including Bishworupa Temple and Gaurighat are in construction process.
PADT Director Bharat Marasini told Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that reconstruction work of 25 heritages is yet to be started.
Reconstruction of Chandra Binayak temple was completed last week. Soil is to be brought from Sankhu and Lubhu for the reconstruction of Jayabageshwori temple of Pashupati area. Problem has surfaced in its reconstruction in lack of new timber to be placed at the lower part of the temple in market.
The Gorkha earthquake occurred on April 25, 2015, had damaged 920 heritages across the nation, according to the National Reconstruction Authority. Of them, 464 (50.5 percent) have been reconstructed so far and reconstruction of 272 heritages is underway.
