
Humla, May 21: Relief supplies have been delivered to Til village in Namkha rural municipality-6 of the district today.
Relief support reached seven days after the glacial-lake induced flood and landslide on the night of May 15. A team of Namkha rural municipality, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and an organization called ‘Aadhar Nepal’ reached Til village with relief supplies for 19 households at risk of landslides.
Namkha rural municipality chair Prem Bahadur Lama has also reached Til village along with the relief materials. Chief District Officer Narayan Pandey shared that the necessary materials were delivered this morning to address the pressing news of the flood and landslide survivors including food, shelter and clothing.
The support included 10 quintals of rice, 100 liters of oil, two quintals of salt, two quintals of sugar, 30 quintals of flour, one quintal of bitten rice, one quintal of puffed rice, tea, potato, vegetable, soap, medicine, and cement, said CDO Pandey.
Similarly, a team of Nepal Red Cross Society district branch has left for the area today with relief materials. Chair Ganesh Mahat is leading the team with blankets, tarpaulins, and mattresses.
Similarly, the Drinking Water, Irrigation, and Energy Development Office, Humla, has provided 1,800 meters of drinking water pipes.
A total of 33 people from 19 households in Til village are living under tarpaulins, after being displaced from their homes due to the disaster. The relief materials were transported from Halji village to last road accessible area and then carried by porters, horses, and mules to Til village. #nepal #Namkha rural municipality #rss
