Resham Chaudhary released from Dillibazar Jail



Kathmandu, May 29: Controversial leader Resham Chaudhary, who was serving life imprisonment in the Tikapur incident, released today on Republic Day.

On the occasion of Republic Day, Chaudhary was released from prison today after receiving general amnesty from President Ramchandra Paudel.

Chaudhary was in Dillibazar Jail for over 6 six years on charges of killing senior police officers, including minor in Tikapur of Kailali. However, he was denying the involvement on killing these people. The district court of Kailali gave verdict against Chaudhary for involvement on crime and Supreme Court  also upheld the decision of the lower court.

A large crowd affiliated to Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) gathered outside of the Dillibazar Jail today morning to receive Chaudhary. He was also the founder of NUP.
