Kathmandu, March 8: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided not to vote in the presidential election tomorrow, Thursday.

The Central Performance Committee meeting which lasted for about four hours today at the party central office Dhumbarahi decided to remain neutral without participating in the voting.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, RPP spokesperson Mohan Krishna Shrestha informed that RPP will not participate in the presidential election tomorrow and will remain neutral. He said, “Regarding the context of tomorrow’s presidential election, there was a discussion nearly four hours. The meeting decided not to participate in the election and remain neutral. The party has taken a decision according to the sentiments of party workers, well-wishers and people.”

Spokesperson Shrestha mentioned that the party decided to remain neutral as his party’s vote was not decisive in the presidential election.

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel and CPN (UML) Vice Chairman Subash Chandra Nemwang are the candidates for tomorrow’s presidential election. Voting for the presidential election is scheduled to be held from 10 am to 3 pm.

After the decision of RPP, it would be very difficult for Nemwang to be elected in the president. Many expected that RPP would be supporting CPN UML candidate.
