Rs 5.5 million collected from ticket sale for Dharahara in one month

Kathmandu, Dec 24: It has been one month today since Dharahara was opened to the general people, taking entry fee after its reconstruction.

A total of Rs 5.5 million was collected from entry fee during the period. Dharahara, the iconic tower in the heart of the federal capital, was opened for the public charging fee from November 24.

Such amount was collected from the sale of entry tickets to Dharahara till Monday. Acting Project Director Prakash Aryal shared that Dharahara is closed on every Wednesday and around 1,200 people climb Dharahara daily on other days.

“More than 31,000 people have climbed Dharahara till Monday from November 24. The record of children below 12 years is not kept”, he added.

Arrangement has been made to climb Dharahara from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm and Rs 200 has been determined as entry fee for the Nepalis. Students, senior citizens, children and disabled people get 50 per cent discount in entry fee, mentioned Aryal.

Similarly, Rs 500 has been fixed as entry fee for tourists from SAARC countries while Rs 1,000 for tourists from other countries.

A cabinet meeting held on November 21 had decided to open Dharahara and approve charge. Parking charge of Rs 20 per hour for four-wheeler and Rs 10 per two-wheelers has been determined.

Likewise, one has to pay Rs 50 h to enter Dharahara premises as well as it has been set at Rs 5,000 per hour for non-commercial advertisement at Dharahara tower, Rs 5,000 for videography and Rs 1,000 for photography. #rss #nepal #dharahara
