Kathmandu, Feb 24: The case of leg spinner of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, is being heard in the Supreme Court today.

The Attorney General’s Office filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding the annulment of the High Court’s order to release Sandeep on bail pending trial. The case is in the single bench of Judge Ishwar Khatiwada.

Yesterday, Sandeep filed a petition in the Supreme Court with the demand to lift the ban on foreign travel. Sandeep’s lawyer demands that the application should be heard together.

Sandeep has not been included in the Nepali team to UAE because the High Court has banned him from going abroad. If the Supreme Court lifts the ban in the hearing, Sandeep can join Nepali team in UAE.

Nepal is playing a series against UAE and Papua New Guinea from February 25 to March 6 under the ICC World Cup League-2.
