Second T20I Showdown: Malaysia sets target of 92 against Nepal



Kathmandu, Oct 4: The Nepal national women’s cricket team, currently on a tour of Malaysia for a five-match T20 International series, have been set a target of 92 runs in the second game today.

The match began at 7:45 AM Nepal time at the YSD-UKM Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Nepal trails the series 1–0 after a narrow 3-run defeat in the opening match and will be aiming to bounce back to level the series.

Batting first after losing the toss, Malaysia posted 91 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ainna Hamizah Hashim top-scored with an unbeaten 50, while captain Winifred Duraisingam added 15 and Mahirah Izzati Ismail chipped in with 8.

For Nepal, Suman Bist claimed 2 wickets while Kabita Kunwar took 1.

In the opening match, chasing Malaysia’s target of 105, Nepal managed 101 for 7 in 20 overs. Despite requiring 7 runs in the final over with Kabita Joshi and Rajmati Airee at the crease, the team could add just 3. Puja Mahato was Nepal’s top scorer with 30 runs.

So far, Nepal and Malaysia have faced each other 12 times in women’s T20 Internationals, with Nepal winning 7 matches and Malaysia 5. The series also serves as crucial preparation for Nepal ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers scheduled for January on home soil. #Nepal #Cricket
