Shanghai, Lumbini Universities forge ties over Buddhist manuscripts



Lumbini, Sept 28: Representatives of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and the China National Institute for SCO International Exchange and Judicial Cooperation recently visited Lumbini Buddhist University to present new research in the cataloguing of overseas Chinese Tripitaka manuscripts, a cornerstone of Buddhist literature.

The delegates met with key university officials including the Vice Chancellor and Registrar, as well as the Director General of National Archives, discussing potential academic collaborations and knowledge exchange, aimed at preserving and understanding Buddhist traditions and philosophy better.

This interaction is a step forward in strengthening international academic partnerships and cultural understanding, with more structured ventures expected to follow, promoting global appreciation of Buddhism and its varied traditions.
