Women’s T20 Tri-Series: Thailand beat the Netherlands



Kathmandu, Feb 3: Thailand has defeated the Netherlands by 17 runs in the Women’s T20 series underway in the capital.

In the match held today at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, the Netherlands, chasing a modest target of 87 runs given by Thailand, was all out for 69 runs in 15.5 overs. For the Netherlands, Captain Babette de Leede scored the highest 25 runs while Iris Willing made 13 runs. Similarly, Caroline De Laas scored 10 runs.

Earlier, having lost the toss and been invited to bat first, Thailand scored a total of 86 runs, losing all their wickets in 19.5 overs. For Thailand, Chanida Sutthiruang scored the highest 27 runs. Phannita Maya added 12 runs. For the Netherlands, Iris Willing, Eva Lynch, and Silver Siegers each took two wickets, while Issa Bell van der took one wicket.

The Netherlands has suffered a second consecutive loss against Thailand. Previously, Thailand secured a magnificent eight-wicket victory over the Netherlands in their first encounter.

The teams participating in the series will play against each other three times. The team at the top of the points table will emerge as the winner of the series. Nepal will play against Thailand tomorrow.#nepal #sport #rss
