Lalitpur, Sept 29 : Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Anita Devi has said that the Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) is being developed as a centre of excellence for the capacity development of government officials.
Addressing an event on the occasion of 41st anniversary of NASC on Thursday, Minister Devi stated that the NASC is not only working to enhance the career growth of the government employees but also helping them make responsible with positive psychology in public service delivery.
She also wished the NASC for achieving success in delivering new programmes that promote capacity of the government staffers and support them in policy making.
On the occasion, she said that performance is cherished that the post to the qualified and efficient people.
Likewise, Ministry’s Secretary Binod Prakash Singh stated the need for running more trainings as per the needs of the country and the government and added that the NASC should do more for running such trainings.
NASC’s founding Executive Director Goraksha Bahadur Nhuchchhe, Executive Director Dr Rajan Khanal, Deputy Executive Director Bishnu Prasad Lamsal and others expressed their views about the institution, its training programmes, outreach, scope and others.
NASC, a centre of excellence
The Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) was set up as a national level autonomous institution on 27th September, 1982 (11 Aswin, 2039 BS) under the Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) Act, 1982.
The main objectives of the NASC is to provide necessary training for the employees of the Government of Nepal and Public Enterprises; identify measures for enhancing the capability of administration of the Nepal Government and management of public enterprises to contribute towards development programme of the country; and undertake problem-oriented research, consulting and information service programmes for preparing training materials and making training more useful.
The NASC’s training policies are to associate training programme as an integral part of personnel administration; associate training programme with the development activities of the Government of Nepal and Public Enterprises; associate trainings with career development by improving development oriented knowledge and skills of employees of the Government of Nepal and Public Enterprises.
