Kathmandu, July 2: On the first day of the week, Nepali stock market fell sharply on Sunday. The NEPSE index decreased by 53.70 points compared to the previous day and remained at 2097. A total of Rs. 5.08 billion securities were traded.
When the value of 207 companies decreased, only 18 increased. All sub-groups of the market have declined. Banking 29, development bank 136, finance 38, hotel and tourism 154, hydropower 79, life insurance 151, manufacturing 129, microfinance 198, non-life insurance 113, others 37 and business subgroup 60 points decreased.
The prices of two companies BPW Microfinance and City Hotel increased by 10 percent. The price of Sirjanshil microfinance and Mountain Energy decreased by 9 percent. Based on turnover, Himalayan Life Insurance, Shivam Cement, Soalti Hotel, Suryajyoti Life Insurance and IGI Prudential Insurance were ahead.
