Kanchanpur, Jan 10: Chairpersons of the thematic committees in the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly have been elected. Almost a year since the start of the second term of the Provincial Assembly, the chairpersons of the four thematic committees were elected unopposed.
Accordingly, Diwansingh Bista of Nepali Congress was elected as the Chair of Legislative and Provincial Affairs Committee, Maya Pant of CPN (US) Chair of Social Development Committee, Bir Bahadur Thapa of CPN (UML) as Chair of Public Accounts Committee and Ghanashyam Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti Party as Chair of Economic Development and Natural Resources Committee, according to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.
Provincial Assembly Speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the chairs of the thematic committees earlier today.
Meanwhile, an agreement has been reached between the parties to give the Chairmanship of the Special Rights Committee to CPN (MC). #Nepal
