Hetauda, Feb 15: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has stated that nationwide support for good governance and prosperity is steadily increasing.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Martyr’s Memorial Stadium and the 7th Bagmati Gold Cup National Football Tournament organized by Bagmati Rural Municipality in Makwanpur, he emphasized the importance of ending corruption and establishing social justice to achieve national unity and progress.
”The nationwide consensus is strengthening that until corruption is eradicated and social justice is established, national unity cannot be achieved, and the country cannot move forward,” Prachanda said. ”I have initiated a new campaign for national unity across the country, and it is gaining momentum.”
He further highlighted the wave of awareness sweeping across the nation in support of good governance, national sovereignty, social justice, and economic prosperity, describing it as a beacon of hope. ”This awareness is highly significant. We will strengthen the agenda of good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity, leading efforts for national unity through streets, parliament, and all governmental avenues. I call on everyone to join this mission,” he added.
Prachanda also underlined the importance of sports in promoting public health and elevating the nation’s global reputation. He urged local governments to prioritize the development of sports infrastructure. Reflecting on his tenure as Prime Minister, he mentioned numerous programs initiated to build sports facilities and encourage athletes, noting that sports have enhanced the country’s prestige. He commended Bagmati Rural Municipality for prioritizing sports infrastructure by building the stadium and hosting a national-level tournament.
Earlier, Prachanda met with local leaders and activists at the party office in Bagmati Rural Municipality, emphasizing the growing public attraction to the party nationwide. He urged leaders and activists to institutionalize this momentum and move forward with strong plans and programs to maintain the public’s trust and aspirations.
This is a critical opportunity for the party, and there is no room for deviation, he stated, directing leaders to expand the vote base in areas where they won and secure victories in places they had not. Prachanda noted that municipalities under Maoist leadership are achieving excellent results and said the party’s central leadership has outlined plans to transform all municipalities under its leadership into exemplary models.
Additionally, Prachanda met with martyr families during his visit. Later today, he is scheduled to address a public gathering and party induction program in Damak, Jhapa, and attend a provincial meeting in Biratnagar. #prachanda #nepal
