Kathmandu, May 2: The Supreme Court is scheduled to record the statement of Rajkumar Timilsina of Lalitpur Godavari, who provided the audio clips to Sidhakura.com.

Today’s joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Mahesh Sharma Paudyal issued an order summoning Timilsina for a statement on May 5, after recording the statement of the publisher of the online news portal, Yubaraj Kandel.

Timisilna has been asked to appear in the court on May 5 at 10 am for a statement along with evidence to avoid action and punishment for contempt of court regarding broadcasting the allegedly fake audio material.

It may be noted that Sidhakura.com published news and aired audio material alleging of a meeting with the Supreme Court justices related to a sting operation by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. As the statement of Kandel was completed today, editor Naveen Dhungana has been called for a statement at 10 o’clock on Friday.

The Sub-Registrar of the Supreme Court, Govinda Ghimire, had submitted a report on 28 April stating that the news, audio-video material published and broadcasted online has been led to a contempt of the court.

Based on this, on 29 April, the bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana ordered the online to remove the material within 24 hours and to appear in court for a statement.
