T20 series: Nepal defeats Kuwait by 34 runs

Kathmandu, Aug 23: Nepal has defeated Kuwait in the women’s T-20 series involving four countries. In the match held today in Malaysia, Nepal defeated Kuwait by 34 runs to register its second win in a row. In the first match yesterday, Nepal had defeated Hong Kong.

Chasing a target of 90 runs set by Nepal, Kuwait lost 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and ended up with only 55 runs. For Kuwait, Zifa Jilani scored 11 runs off 19 balls and Khadija Khalil scored 10 runs in 22 balls.

For Nepal, Indu Verma took three wickets and Khushi Dangol took two wickets. Ishwari Bista, Kabita Kunwar and Sita Ranamagar took one wicket each.

Earlier, put into bat first, Nepal scored 89 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Indu Verma scored the highest 23 runs for Nepal. Bindu Rawal scored 20 runs while Kajal Shrestha scored 19 runs to remain not out.

For Kuwait, Marinma Haider took four wickets and Maryam Omar took two wickets. In the series, Nepal is in the top position with four points in two matches. Nepal will now play its third match against Malaysia on coming Friday.
