Tanahun bus accident: Dead bodies sent to India



Bharatpur (Chitwan), Aug. 24: The dead bodies of those who lost their lives in a bus accident occurred at Ainapahra of Aanbu Khaireni Rural Municipality-4 in Tanahun district on Friday were sent to India this afternoon.

The dead bodies were sent to India via a plane of the Indian Air Force after completing the postmortem at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan.

Chief District Officer of Chitwan Indra Dev Yadav said that 25 dead bodies were sent to India in the plane and the dead bodies of the bus driver and helper were sent to Gorkhapur in India via land route.

India’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, had arrived in Bharatpur to receive the dead bodies.
CDO Yadav shared that the dead bodies were brought to Bharatpur on Friday night from Aanbu Khaireni.

The passenger bus UP 53 FT 7623 heading to Kathmandu from Pokhara fell some 200 meters off the road into the Masryangdi River on Friday, killing 27 persons. Of the deceased, 15 are women, 11 are men and a four-year-old baby girl.

Likewise, 16 others including 10 women are injured and are receiving treatment at TUTH, Kathmandu.

The wounded passengers were brought to Kathmandu on Friday in a Nepal Army helicopter. According to the police, 43 persons were onboard. RSS #Nepal
