Test production of Super Kabeli ‘A’ Hydropower Project successful



Taplejung, Nov 30: The first trial of production of the Super Kabeli ‘A’ Hydropower Project in Sirijangha Rural Municipality of Taplejung has been successful. The project based on the Kabeli River has a capacity of producing 13.5 MW of clean energy.

According to the project’s Public Relations Officer, Meghnath Dhungana, the power production trial of the project began last Sunday. With the successful testing, Nepal Electricity Authority technicians are preparing to connect the power generated from the project to the national grid. This will be done today after conducting final checks and inspections.

The power generated from the project will be connected to the national grid through NEA’s Amarpur Sub-Station (132 KVA capacity) in Paanchthar.

Meanwhile, the testing of the transmission line, located about 31 kilometers away from the power house in Rate River in Yamphudin, Sirijangha-8, to Amarpur Sub-Station has also been successful. The Super Kabeli A Hydropower Project has been constructed by Snow Rivers Limited.

The project was completed at a cost of approximately Rs 2.63 billion is expected to make a significant contribution to addressing energy demand in the region.

The Kabeli Hydropower Company Limited is also constructing another hydropower project with a capacity of 21.13 MW in the same locality. #hydro #nepal
