Surkhet: Candidate of Nepali Congress (NC) in the election to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Surkhet constituency no. 2 has been declared winner.
Thani obtained 34,625 votes against his nearest rival Amrit Bahadur Budha Chhetri of CPN (UML), who garnered 29,558 votes.
Thani routed Budha Chhetri, who is also the UML’s district chairman, with the margin of 5,067 votes. With this win, Thani made to the parliament for three times.
However, he was defeated by UML’s Nabaraj Rawat in the parliamentary elections of 2074 BS. Meanwhile, NC’s Purna Bahadur Khadka has led in the initial counting of votes in Surkhet constituency no. 1.
According to the Office of the Returning Officer, Khadka has led the vote count tally by getting 1,772 while UML’s Dhruba Kumar Shahi has got 1,355 from the count of 3,238 votes.
NC’s KC emerges victorious in Kathmandu-10
Nepali Congress’ candidate, Rajendra Kumar KC, of House of Representatives (HoR) election from Kathmandu constituency no. 10 claimed victory by getting 14,458 votes. With this win, NC’s KC made hat-trick by winning the parliamentary election for three consecutive elections.
According to Returning Officer Phaneshwori Ghimire, KC defeated UML’s Himesh KC with the margin of 2,672 votes.
However, formal announcement of the result is awaited. UML’s KC has got 11,787 votes of the total 53,336 votes cast.

NC leader Shashanka lading in the vote-count tally in East Nawalparasi
Nepali Congress leader Dr Shashanka Koirala continues leading in the vote-count tally in the House of Representatives election in East Nawalparasi constituency no 1.
As per the latest results of the vote count, Koirala has secured 13,809 votes.
Rajan Gautam of the Rastriya Swatantra Party bagged 11,313 votes and Krishna Poudel of CPN (UML) has obtained 10,307 votes.
NC’s Bishnu Kumar Karki is leading the vote-count in the HoR election in East Nawalparasi, constituency-2.
He has obtained 17,110 votes followed by CPN (UML)’s Til Bahadur Mahat with 16,807 votes.
