Three children died in Dolpa fire incident

Dolpa, April 13: All three children have died in a fire in Surya Community Forest located in Tripurasundari Municipality-4 of Dolpa.

Chief District Officer Tulsi Prasad Dahal informed that all the three children who were involved in the fire incident died last Thursday.

He said that two people who were seriously injured in the fire died in Kathmandu during treatment.

CDO Dahal said that 12-year-old Bibas Budha and 13-year-old Samant Budha died today in Kathmandu during treatment.

10-year-old Sulus Budha, who was injured in the fire, died last Friday during treatment at the District Hospital, Dolpa. All the three children who went to pick Guchhi mushrooms in the forest near the village got seriously injured in the fire.

Ward Chair of Tripurasundari-4 Ranjit Budha said that after three children of the same village died in the fire, the entire village was in mourning.

Tripurasundari sent the two injured children to Kathmandu by helicopter for further treatment. Bir Bahadur Shahi, a member of the Karnali Provincial Assembly, said that during the rescue of them, the cost of the helicopter was Rs. 16 lakh 50 thousand.

“Coordination is being done with Tripurasundari Municipality and Karnali Provincial Government to bear the expenses”, he said.

Earlier, last Tuesday in Dolpa, three soldiers lost their lives while fighting a fire in the Mashta Community Forest located in Thuliveri Municipality-4.
