Kathmandu, Nov 21: The meeting of the leaders of the three major political parties held today at Baluwatar.

Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli participated in the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Residence at Baluwatar.

The Secretariat of Chairman KP Oli has informed that the meeting was held with the commitment to complete the remaining works of the peace agreement as soon as possible.

Previously, political parties of Nepal agreed to end the 10-year long armed conflict in the country after signing a Comprehensive Peach Accord (CPA) some 17 years back. According to the agreement, conflict-victims have been waiting to address their demand including reparation, punishment to grave violators of the human rights, among others.

Most contentious issue is the passage of the transitional justice bill pending at the parliament. The proposed bill includes a controversial provision of granting amnesty to all involved in the conflict.
