Three Nepali youth affiliated with the Russian Army killed in frontline

Kathmandu, Nov 28: Three Nepalis who were affiliated with the Russian Army have been killed in front-line. According to the Nepali Embassy in Moscow, they died during the war with Ukraine.

According to the letter sent by the Nepali Embassy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal, Pritam Karki of Syangja, Raj Kumar Roka of Dolakha and Ganga Raj Moktan of Ilam district are among the dead. Nepalis were kept as assistant to the Russian Army.

Sources said they died on November 15.

Milan Tuladhar, the Nepali ambassador to Russia, informed that a detailed inquiry is being conducted in the Russian army into the incident of the killing of Nepali. During the war between Russia and Ukraine, there were reports that some other Nepalis were also killed.

It is estimated that there are nearly 200 Nepalis who fought on the side of Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Embassy of Nepal in Moscow wrote a letter on November 24, 2023 addressing to Consular Department in Kathmandu. The letter stated, “The Russian Army has sent telegram to Embassy of Nepal in Moscow regarding the Medical Death Certificate of three Nepalis serving in Russian Army.”

Earlier, a youth from Nepal, Sandeep Thapaliya was believed to be killed in the frontline. Another youth from Bardiya district of Nepal, Bibek Khatri was captured by Ukrain Army in Avdivka area. However, the competent authorities of Nepal and Russia have not mentioned anything about these two youth.
