Pokhara, Feb 2: The final match of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup, one of the grand football tournaments from the mofussil, is going to be held in the city of Pokhara on Saturday.
Departmental Tribhuvan Army Club and Three Star Club are scheduled to play to lift the trophy from the 23rd edition of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup.
The Tribhuvan Army Club has never won the match despite its entry into the final for four times. This is the fifth time that the Tribhuvan Army Club made it to the final of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup.
On the other, the Three Star Club has won the title five times and is effortful to emerge victorious for six times.
The two teams had met in the final match of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup in 2075 BS, making the Three Star a winner.
So far, the Tribhuvan Army Club has reached the final match four times including 2065 BS, 2066 BS, 2072 BS and 2075 BS.
The winner would get Rs 1,201,000 in cash and trophy while the first runner up would bag Rs 601,000 and trophy, organizing Sahara Club’s Chairman Keshav Raj Baral said.
