Traffic monitoring for safe travel goes on in state 5

Rupandehi, Oct 5 : The state 5 government has formed a traffic monitoring committee as it seeks to ensure the safe travel of people during the festivals.

The public transport management monitoring committee formed on the initiation of ministry of internal affairs and law has started its works from Friday. Its role will be centered on minimising road accidents and the convenience of passengers.

According to committee coordinator and ministry secretary Shankar Prasad Kharel, traffic checking and monitoring is going in the state. The committee will instruct transport entrepreneurs to ensure that vehicles are in good condition through their adequate and regular maintenance as vehicles are used intensively during the festivals. As he said, any negligence in the maintenance of vehicles may lead to accident(s).

The committee has appealed to travelers, drivers, transport entrepreneurs and the public to take all possible measures for the safe journey bearing in mind of a huge traffic flow during the festivals such as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.

It has requested service seekers and recipients to dial 100, a toll free emergency number of Nepal Police, and 103 of the Nepal Traffic Police if they have any grudges in regard with the traffic services.
