KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The government of Nepal has decided to restrict the entry of passengers into the country from the United Kingdom.

Issuing a travel restriction notice, the regulatory body Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has imposed ban on the travel from the UK following identification of a new variant of the coronavirus and its subsequent outbreak.

The CAAN has issued this circular to all the international airlines companies operating international flight services in Nepal.

With this restriction in place, no airlines from the UK would make direct flights or onboard Nepal-bound passengers via the transit in any airport of the UK.

Of late several countries have imposed travel restrictions following abrupt rise in the transmission of coronavirus in the UK.

The European countries, middle-east and some Asian countries have announced travel restrictions from the UK with the rapid rise in the outbreak of coronavirus.
