Tribhuvan University Vice-Chancellor Baral resigns

Kathmandu, March 29: Tribhuvan University (TU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral has submitted his resignation to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Baral cited health reasons for his resignation, addressing it to Prime Minister and TU Chancellor. However, his resignation has not yet been approved.

Baral has been suffering from prostate-related health issues. Attempts to contact him for clarification were unsuccessful. Sources close to him stated that after submitting his resignation, he traveled to Pokhara.

He was appointed as TU Vice-Chancellor on Falgun 10, 2080 BS by then-Prime Minister and Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Prof Baral was in tremendous pressure over appointment of high level university officials and college/campus chiefs.  #TribhuvanUniversity #nepal
