Doti, Nov 2 : One person was killed and 36 others were injured in a bus accident occurred at Doti early this morning. The deceased has been identified as Naya Serala, 51, of Bahrabise of Budhiganga municipality-6, Bajura.
The bus (Na 7 Kha 6181) belonging to the Mahakali Travels en route to Martadi of Bajura from Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur fell some 50 meters from the road at Gerupani near the Bhageshwor Temple in Shikhara municipality-1.
All the injured are being treated at the Shaileshwori Hospital, District Police Office, Doti’s Superintendent of Police, Dilip Singh Deuba, said.
One killed in tipper accident
Kavre: A tipper driver was killed in an accident occurred this morning at Patlekhet along the BP Highway in Dhulikhel municipality-11 in Kavrepalanchwok.
The District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk identified the deceased as Ganesh Bahadur Karki, 24, of Sindhuli.
According to DPO, Kavrepalanchowk’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Giri, the vehicle carrying sand fell some 100 meters off the road as it was heading to Dhulikhel from Bhakunde of Namobuddha municipality.
It is believed that the accident occurred as the driver lost control on the vehicle all of a sudden.
One killed, 20 injured in bus-truck collision
Rajbiraj : One person died and 20 others sustained injuries in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the East-West highway at Rupani of Saptari district this morning.
Bus driver, 40-year-old Namoraj Neupane of Jagatdev, Syangja district was killed in the accident, Superintendent of Police Teelak Bharati said. Neupane had been currently living in Butwal Sub-metropolitan City, Rupandehi.
According to police, Neupane who was fatally injured in the accident was taken to the Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital at Rajbiraj for treatment. He died in course of the treatment.
Those injured in the accident have been taken to the Unique Hospital at Raypur, police said. Police teams were dispatched to the accident site from the Area Police Office Rupani, the District Police Office Saptari and the Area Police Office Kalyanpur for rescue as soon as getting information about the accident.
The passenger bus (Lu 1 Kha 8214) was going west towards Bhairahawa from Kakarbhitta and the truck (Na 8 Kha 5903) was heading towards the east from the west at the time of the accident. Police has impounded the truck and its driver for investigation.
