Two girls killed by over speed tanker in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Two girls were killed when a speeding tanker hit two motorcycles at a distance of two kilometers on the East-West Highway in Saptari on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Yasoda Kumari Pramani, 8, daughter of Bishnudev Pramani of Rupani-3, Kataiya and Sumaiya Pravin, 7, daughter of Mohammad Aranjaib of Kanchanrup Municipality-6, Ghoghanpur.

The tanker (Na 7 Kha 5495) hit a motorcycle (Sa 11 Pa 2585) at Chandani Chowk in Sitapur and a motorcycle (Sa 2 Pa 5245) at Birendra Bazaar, locals said. Yasoda’s mother Suman Debi, 32, and uncle Kusumlal Mandal were injured in the accident. Similarly, Sumaiya’s family member Naviya Prabin was injured.

The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kanchanpur Municipality. Locals blocked the highway demanding compensation to the family of the deceased and action against the driver of the vehicle.
