Baglung, Oct 26 : Driver and helper died in a jeep accident that occurred at Tamankhola rural municipality in Baglung last night.
A pick-up jeep (Dha 1 Ja 705) en route to ward no. 1 Bongadovan Bazaar from ward 3 Taman met with the accident at Rikalang last night, confirmed the District Police Office.
The deceased have been identified as driver Jhak Bahadur BK and helper Om Bahadur Gotame of Tamankhola-1, informed Nawaraj Bhatta, Superintendant of Police (SP) at the District Police Office. Both of them died on the spot, police informed.
According to Bongadovan area police, the pick-up jeep had fallen some 1,200 metres off the road.
Police guessed that the accident might have occurred due to narrowed road space and turnings.
It was very difficult to carry out rescue works due to night time, police shared. Bhatta informed that the dead bodies were taken to Burtibang Health Centre at Dhorpatan municipality-1, Burtibang for post-mortem.
