Two killed in jeep accident in Myagdi

Myagdi, Nov 1 : Two people were killed when a jeep met with an accident at Ruma of Malika Rural Municipality-2 in Myagdi district today.

The jeep (Dha 1 Ja 598) was heading towards Ruma from Darbang Bazar at the time of the accident that occurred at a place called Asan, Darakha near Bilbang village.

Police has identified one of the deceased as Saka Bahadur BK of Malika Rural Municipality-2. The identity of the other deceased is not known.

Except the two casualties, the rest of the 15 people who were on board the jeep are unhurt, police added. The two deceased were among the three people who were on the roof of the jeep when it overturned. The three had been hurled in a cliff down the road. One of them who got somehow caught ip in a tree is said to be in normal condition.

Santosh Subedi, the Ward Chair of Malika rural municipality-6 who saw the accident, said the jeep overturned after coming into back gear as it was going an uphill. A police team from the Area Police Office Darbang, Red Cross volunteers, people’s representatives and locals rescued the passengers.
