Two school children died after being hit by a truck in Malekhu

Dhading: Two school children have died after being hit by a truck in Majuwa, Gajuri Rural Municipality-2, Malekhu, Dhading today morning.

Nirmal Shrestha and Sanjeev Shrestha of Siddhalake Rural Municipality-6 died on the spot, said Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office Santulal Prasad Jaiswar.

A truck numbered 02-001B 6413, which was going from Kathmandu to Chitwan, hit both of them this morning. Both the deceased children were studying in Class 8 at Bageshwari Secondary School.

After the incident, the locals have stopped the traffic in the Malekhu area of the Prithvi highway, demanding compensation. The truck driver, 41-year-old Ashok Bamjan of Rautahat’s Chandrapur Municipality-2, has been detained by the police.
