Morang, Oct 18: Chief Minister of Koshi Province Hikmat Karki has said that the Manmohan Technical University should concentrate on the nation’s prosperity by emphasizing research initiatives.
Inaugurating fifth senate of the university in Budhiganga Rural Municipality of Morang on Saturday, the Chief Minister said that educational and production-based research programmes would contribute to the overall development of the country. He pledged to ensure the university’s autonomy in the future and dole out additional budgets.
Karki also urged the university to focus its health related programmes in the Dhankuta Hospital of the province government.
Chief Minister Karki shared that the provincial government, in partnership with the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan, will soon launch the ‘Koshi Mobile Hospital’ in three Terai districts, with plans for gradual expansion to other districts within the province.
He remarked that it is inappropriate to vandalize government and private property while displaying the national flag, underscoring the need for good governance and to curb corruption in the nation.
Chief Minister Karki noted that the government will prioritize the advancement of the health, education, and tourism sectors to retain the population in the hills while reducing their migration to the Terai area.
University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Subash Shree Pokhrel mentioned that the university has commenced research aimed at the production of various Ayurvedic medicines.#nepal #rss
