Vote count for Nepali Congress Vice-President starts



KATHMANDU: Counting of votes for Nepali Congress vice-president under the 14th general convention has begun.

According to Secretary of NC Central Office, Prem KC, the counting of votes started at the party headquarters from 6:15 pm. Result is expected to come tonight itself.

Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Mahesh Acharya, Sujata Koirala, Dr Chandra Bhandari, Dhanraj Gurung and Divyeshwori Shah have contested for the post of two vice-presidents.

A total of 4,679 votes out of 4,743 votes, were cast in the election. The election was held for 132 posts including office-bearers and members.

Vote count for the party presidency was already held and Sher Bahadur Deuba got reelected to the post.

Counting of votes for other office-bearers and central committee would start after the result of vice-president, according to the NC’s Central Election Commission.
