Vote count to begin from 9:00 pm today in Dolakha

Dolakha: The counting of vote in Dolakha constituency no 1 is scheduled to begin from 9:00 pm today night.

Chief Returning Officer Dilli Ratna Shrestha said that the counting of vote for the election of House of Representatives (HoR) will begin at 9:00 pm as decided by the all-party meeting and the counting of the vote under the province assembly seats will start from tomorrow, Friday.

For the HoR seat, Ganga Karki of the left-democratic alliance and CPN UML’s Bal Krishna Siwakoti are considered to the key contenders.

Reelection was held to the HoR and Province Assembly elections in the district’s 10 polling centres and the elections were conducted in a peaceful manner.

Re-polling in Dolakha: 50 per cent voter turnout recorded

The election to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly taken place on Thursday in 10 polling centres of Dolakha district was held in a peaceful manner, Chief Returning Officer Dilli Ratna Shrestha said.

It is said that voter turnout in the 10 polling centres of four polling stations remained 50 per cent. The total voters there were 8,514.

Currently, an all-party meeting is ongoing to decide on vote counting.

The reelection was conducted in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ of Baiteshwor Secondary School of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality and in polling centres ‘A’ and ‘B’ of Jana Jyoti Secondary School of the Baiteshwor-2. Likewise, reelection was held in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ of Kalidhunga Secondary School of the Baiteshwor-3.

The reelection was also held in polling centres ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ at the Japhe-based Health Post in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality-3.

The voting in those polling centres was rescheduled following a dispute after the November 20 election.

The district has a HoR seat and 94 polling stations and 195 polling centres. With a total of 161,450 voters, 21 candidates are vying for the HoR seat in Dolakha including seven independent and 14 political parties’ candidates.
