Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) as claimed that the five-party ruling alliance will obtain a complete majority in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assembly for the cause of safeguarding democracy, institutional development of democracy, employment creation and political stability in the country.
Organizing a news conference in the party central office on Monday, NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said the NC-led coalition should be given a majority as the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) failed to ensure stability despite getting almost two-thirds majority in the elections held in 2017.
Dr Mahat shared that reforms and amendments to the constitution would be done while safeguarding it in the future.
“The parties in coalition will win with an overwhelming vote. We have expedited publicity campaigns by remaining within the limit given by the Election Commission,” the NC Spokesperson said.
Dr Mahat also said that vote of the proportional electoral system was also equally important to the NC and appealed to the voters to cast vote for the NC under the proportional electoral system.
The NC-led alliance should win as an accommodative and tolerant leadership was needed for the country, he reasoned.
An intolerant leader within the party cannot lead the nation, Dr Mahat told the media referring to CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli’s stubbornness towards UML leader Dr Bhim Rawal and ex UML leader Ghana Shyam Bhusal. Such an intolerant leadership was unbearable for the country, he concluded.
Similarly, the NC leader shared that the UML Chairman betrayed people’s trust exhibited through the last general elections.
The country could not be run by the candidacy announcement in the social networking sites in the name of independent candidate, he shared NC’s conclusion.
Likewise, Dr Mahat said that the Election Commission’s attention should be drawn to the information regarding the distribution of cash by an INGO in Sindhuli seeking vote for the CPN (UML).
The NC would obviously lead the government after the election, he hoped, and the party president Sher Bahadur Deuba would lead the government.
