Women T-20 series: Tanzania post 116 runs target against Nepal

Kathmandu, Nov 15: Tanzania has set a target of 116 runs against Nepal as part of Women T-20 cricket series involving four countries.

According to Cricket Association Nepal (CAN), Tanzania won the toss and decided to bat first at the Hong Kong Cricket Club ground in Hong Kong.

For Tanzania, Hudaa Omary top scored with 25 runs. Nepali bowler Sangita Rai took 2 wickets while  Puja Mahato, Rubina Chhetry and Indu Barma took one wicket each.

Meanwhile, Nepal has already lost 5 wicket after scoring just 18 runs.

Nepali top order five batters returned the pavilion. Puja Mahato, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Kajal Shrestha and Rubina Chhetry have been dismissed without scoring double digit.

Now, Indu Barma and Sita Rana Magar are  in the crease.

Nepal and Tanzania are about to clash for the first time. Tanzania is ranked 19th and Nepal is ranked 21st in the ICC rankings. Along with the host Hong Kong, Nepal, Tanzania and Japan are participating in the ongoing series.

The Nepalese team consists of captain Indu Barma, vice-captain Bindu Rawal, Rubina Chhetry, Sita Rana Magar, Asmina Karmacharya, Kajal Shrestha, Kanchan Shrestha, Khushi Dangol, Sangeeta Rai, Soni Pakhrin, Somu Bista, Puja Mahato, Roma Thapa.

Nepal will play the second match against Hong Kong and the last match of the group stage against Japan. The top two teams will play for the title.
