Women’s Cricket: Tanzania defeats Nepal by 27 runs



Kathmandu, Nov 15: Nepal faced a defeat in the hands of Tanzania in the first match held today under the Women’s four-nation T20 Series.

Tanzania defeated Nepal by 27 runs in the match held at the Hong Kong Cricket Club ground.

Nepal, chasing a victory target of 116 runs set by Tanzania, were confined to 88 runs losing all their wickets in 16.5 overs.

Sita Rana Magar made the highest 43 runs for Nepal. Captain Indu Barma made 15 runs. The remaining players could not make double-digit runs.

Sophia Jerome took three wickets for Tanzania while Neema Puis two.

Similarly, Perice Zakayo, Mwanamvua Usanga and Aisha Mohamed each took one wicket. Before this, elected into bat after winning the toss, Tanzania made 115 runs in allotted 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets.

For Tanzania, Hudda Omary hit 25 runs, Aisha Mohamed 21, Saum Mtae 16, captain Fatuma Kibasu 11 and Monica Pascal 10.

Towards bowling, for Nepal, Sangita Rai took two wickets while Rubina Chhetri, Puja Mahato and captain Indu Barma one each.
