195 people die in natural disasters since June 10



Kathmandu, Aug 23: The incessant rains that caused floods and landslides in various parts of the country killed 195 people since June 10 this year.

According to Nepal Police Spokesperson Dan Bahadur Karki, three people have died in flood and landslide in Kathmandu Valley while 27 in Koshi Province, eight in Madhes Province, 36 in Bagmati Province, 56 in Gandaki Province, 37 in Lumbini Province, 13 in Karnali province and 15 in Sudurpaschim Province.

Similarly, two persons were injured in Koshi province, one in Madhes Province, 41 in Bagmati Province, two in Gandaki Province, one in Lumbini Province, one each in Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim province due to landslides.
The search for the missing ones is going on. According to the police, a total of 408 houses were inundated due to the flooding in the country so far.

As many as 342 houses, 121 sheds, 51 bridges, six schools and two government offices were damaged in natural disasters. Similarly, the number of livestock killed in the flood and landslide stands at 909.

Spokesperson Karki further informed a total of 5,883 households were displaced during the reporting period. RSS #Nepal
