200 plus Nepali students arrive from Bangladesh

Birtamod, July 21: As the protests continue in Bangladesh, more than 200 Nepali students arrived safely on Sunday via Kakadbhitta point. They came home via land route.

The number of students arriving in Nepal increased on Sunday compared to the past two days, said the chief of the Immigration Office in Kakadbhitta Mohan Paneru.

He said the students are sent to their homes by completing the immigration process soon.

According to Paneru, more than 700 Nepali students arrived home in the past seven days via Kakadbhitta point.

Bhawana Rai, an MBBS student at Rangaur Community Medical College, said that more than 400 Nepali students were brought to the Fulbari border point of India by the college buses.

The college buses used to carry the Nepali students were provided with security from the Bangladesh government, she said. “We could enter India from Bangladesh even in the time of curfew,” Rai shared.

Students studying in medical colleges in the northern belt of Bangladesh are using the land route to arrive in Nepal.
