KATHMANDU: A doctor of orthopedics in Birgunj has died due to Covid-19 infection. Murad Hussain, a 29-year-old doctor of Chhapkaiya, Birgunj Metropolitan City-3, has died at Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur.
According to the hospital, he died of coronavirus infection on Sunday morning. He had served in various hospitals and health institutions including Birgunj Health Care.
Dr. Hussein graduated from Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Bangladesh just a month ago.
Five doctors of Birgunj Health Care along with Dr. Hussain, who was also involved in the treatment of Covid-19 patients, had confirmed Covid-19 infection.
According to Director of Birgunj Health Care Dr. Abul Hassan Ansari, Dr. Hussein was being treated in Birgunj for about a week. But his health did not improve and he was airlifted to Kathmandu 10 days ago.
“After the infection was confirmed, Dr Uday Narayan Singh observed him and advised to be admitted. He was suffering from lung pneumonia,” Ansari said.
