Kathmandu, Nov 16: Thirty-eight offices of election officers were established on Friday in view of the upcoming local-level by- elections scheduled to take place on December 1.
According to the Election Commission, 32 offices of chief election officers and six offices of election officers were set up at the local levels.
Nita Pokharel Aryal said the electoral programmes would be conducted in such facilities on November 17-20.
The schedule for filing electoral candidacies is November 17, while on November 20, the final name list of candidates will be published, and they will be granted electoral symbols.
The voting commences at 7:00 am on December 1 and concludes at 5:00 pm the same day.
The local-level by-elections will elect two district coordination committee chiefs, two rural municipality chairs, one mayor, one deputy mayor, and 34 ward chairs, totaling 44 local representatives.
Meanwhile, as per the EC’s decision today, Aryal has been designated the EC spokesperson, according to Assistant Spokesperson Durga Prasad Chalise. #election
