4.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Jajarkot today

Kathmandu, Dec 26: An earthquake was felt in Jajarkot district early Thursday morning. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the quake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, struck at 6:30 AM with its epicenter near Nayakwada in Jajarkot.

The tremor was also felt in nearby districts.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck with its epicenter in Darchula.

In November of last year, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 and an epicenter in Jajarkot caused significant human and material damage.

Similarly, last Saturday morning, Bajura’s Jagannath Rural Municipality, Goṭri, experienced a 5.2 magnitude earthquake.
