60 bodies of plane crash victims handed over

Kathmandu: The bodies of 60 passengers, among those killed in Pokhara airplane crash, have been handed over to their respective families.

Issuing a press release here on Monday, Yeti Airlines said out of 70 bodies, 60 bodies have been handed over to their respective families after carrying out post-mortem. “Post-mortem of 70 bodies have been carried out so far and 60 bodies have been handed over to their respective families from Pokhara and Kathmandu “, reads the statement.

According to Department of Forensic Medicine under the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, the bodies of four identified persons are yet to be handed over and process is on to handed over six other bodies after establishing their identity.

Search for the two missing passengers is underway. Similarly, DNA test of human organs brought from the incident site is underway at the TUTH, shared Yeti Airlines.

Meanwhile, the Yeti Airlines has requested the families and relatives of the deceased to cooperate by exercising patience until the due process is completed at this difficult hour.
