Kathmandu: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has urged the government to create a favourable environment to bring non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) back home.

NRNA President Kumar Panta urged this saying that though the government’s recent decisions with some conditions of making chartered flights to repatriate Nepalis stranded abroad was positive, it has not addressed the concerns NRNs.

He said the NRNs who have to come to Nepal for essential works have been facing problems after the government did not take any appropriate decision in this regard.

Panta drew government’s attention to make international flights more practical and systematic. Out of the Nepalis stranded abroad, a total of 51,441 have been rescued so far.

Nepalis stranded in foreign countries due to the pandemic coronavirus are being rescued with collaboration of NRNA, Nepali Embassy and diplomatic mission in the countries concerned.

According to NRNA, more than 100,000 Nepalis in the middle-east countries are still waiting for their rescue.

The NRNA stated that 192 Nepalis lost their lives from coronavirus in foreign countries so far.
