9.6 million votes counted under proportional system

Kathmandu: The counting of votes for the proportional representation in the elections of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly continues. According to the Election Commission, a total of 96,02,576 votes have been counted so far.

According to the record till 10.30 am today, CPN (UML) has received 25,93,466 votes. Similarly, second placed Nepali Congress has received 24,57,303 votes.

CPN (Maoist Center) has received 11,04,833. Newly emerged Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has received 10,74,196 votes.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) got 5,52,874 votes and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) got 3,58,922 votes.

According to the Commission, Janmat Party got 3,01,620 votes, CPN (Unified Socialist) 2,65,547 votes.

In order to get recognition of the national party in the House of Representatives, at least one seat must be won directly and three percent of the votes must be obtained proportionally.
