Kathmandu, April 21: Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Shishir Khanal held a meeting with Samir Paul Kapur, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, who is currently on a visit to Nepal.
During the meeting, discussions were held on further strengthening Nepal-US bilateral relations including enhanced focus on trade and investment.
Mr Kapur held separate meeting with Presient of ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Mr Rabi Lamichhane on Monday. He also held discussion with IT enterpreneurs stationed in Nepal. Mr Kapur shared in X (formerly twitter): “Important discussion with industry leaders about expanding U.S. business opportunities in Nepal’s ICT sector. Also discussed ways to bolster digital infrastructure, AI adoption, cybersecurity, and sharing U.S. technology prowess.”
According to sources, Mr Kapur will not be meeting with Prime Minister Balendra Shah this time. Nepal #PaulKapur
