Cabinet reshuffled in Madhesh Province, UML joins government

Janakpurdham, May 22: The Council of Ministers in Madhesh Province was reshuffled on Thursday following a recommendation by Krishna Prasad Yadav.

According to a press statement issued by the Office of the Province Chief, Surendra Labh Karn carried out the cabinet reshuffle in accordance with Article 168 (9) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Under the new portfolio division, Chief Minister Yadav will also oversee the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Sports, and Ministry of Social Welfare.

Similarly, Jangi Lal Yadav was assigned the Health and Population Ministry, while Jawaharlal Kushwaha took charge of the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water.

Likewise, Kanish Patel was appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Shankar Prasad Chaudhary as Minister for Forests and Environment, and Shyam Prasad Patel as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperative.

Phakira Mahato was assigned the Ministry of Home, Communications and Law, while Mahammad Samir was appointed minister without portfolio.

The newly appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy before the Province Chief at the Office of the Province Chief in Janakpur on Thursday. #Nepal
