Nepal and China agree to further strengthen cooperation



Kathmandu, May 26: A delegation led by Mr. Zhao Peng, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of the Xizang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Shisir Khanal, Minister for Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry today.

During the meeting, both sides held discussions on further strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between Nepal and the People’s Republic of China, according to Foreign Ministry statement.

The discussions covered key areas including connectivity, infrastructure development, cross-border trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on advancing constructive and forward-looking cooperation in emerging sectors such as the digital economy, information and communication technology (ICT), and hydropower development.

During the meeting, delegate members including Ambassador of China to Nepal Mr Zhang Maoming were also present. Mr Peng arrived Kathmandu on Monday.
