12th census to be inclusive



KATHMANDU, Dec 09: The Central Bureau of Statistics have pledged to make the 12th national census more inclusive.

The census the first one after the country switched to federalism would incorporate personal features, said Director at the Central Statistics Bureau Dhundiraj Lamichhane.

He said that there is the provision of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the national census-2078 BS.

He was addressing a seminar organised jointly by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens and the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN) on the occasion of the 29th International Day of Persons with Disabilities through virtual medium on Wednesday.

The census scheduled from June 8 to June 22 next year would be crucial for the three-tier government under the federal system to design plans and programmes.

NFDN chair Mitralal Sharma urged the Bureau to create an atmosphere so that participation of persons with disabilities in the census is ensured.
