NCP Prachanda-Madhav faction protesting across the country today



KATHMANDU, Dec 29: The Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) have been protesting across the country today against the dissolution of the parliament. The group has claimed that 50,000 cadres will be deployed in Kathmandu alone.

Demonstrations will start from different areas of Kathmandu Valley from 11 am. The procession will start from Teku, Kupandol, Nayabaneshwar, Lanchaur and Naxal.

Similarly, processions from different party-affiliated organisation will be organized like workers from Ratna Park, students from Trichandra Campus and youths from the exhibition road begin their rallies. All the rallies will merge at Bhrikuti Mandap and will be addressed by top leaders, said Youth Association President Ram Prasad Sapkota ‘Dipshikha’.

There have been daily protests against the government’s dissolution of the House of Representatives. On Monday, the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, staged protests across the country. Janata Samajwadi Party, civic leaders, students and youths have also been protesting.

Both Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Prachanda-Madhav faction have been claiming to be the official NCP. While the writ petitions against the dissolution of the parliament are being debated at the apex court, the Election Commission is also preparing to resolve the NCP’s authenticity dispute.
